Review: Zumba Fitness World Party

Zumba is one of the most well known and popular fitness dancing classes out there. They offer so many ways to get up, dance, and burn calories now! You can take classes at most gyms, there are DVDs, and there are even video games!

All new generation consoles offer some form of motion controls so it makes sense that Zumba would work well there.

Zumba Fitness World Party is available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. All of the songs are available on all of the systems so get it for your favorite!

The game has the best reviews on the Xbox One platform because the new Kinect is so much more responsive than other motion control options, but you shouldn’t hesitate from picking it up for a console you have if you don’t have an Xbox One.

If you play on either the Wii or Playstation system you’ll also get an adjustable belt where you’ll put your Wii-mote or PS Move controller so you can dance hands free. It adjusts up to a 52 inch waist.

Like Zumba videos, you get access to a bunch of different workout routines. You get over 40 routines with normal Zumba style songs as well as songs from artists like Lady Gaga, Daddy Yankee, and Pitbull. Many of the Zumba style songs are from regional artists.

You can get up and move to over 30 different styles of dance including salsa, calypso, Irish step, blues, and more. Pick your favorite or mix and match!

The game tracks your calories burned as you play so you know you’re getting a good workout. The Progress Tracker Plus lets you keep track of your fitness goals and how you’re working towards them. You can choose your own fitness goals or work towards in game presets.

The main complaint seems to be that the routines just go right into the dancing rather than going over the moves first which can be really hard if you’ve never done Zumba before, but there is actually a learning mode you can go through first to learn the different moves in a slower and more relaxed setting before you dive into the routines.

I love Zumba from home because I don’t really have the time to go to the gym and I don’t really want to sweat and dance with a bunch of strangers. As an added bonus, the kids love getting up next to me and dancing so I know they’re getting some extra exercise too!
