I really like pizza but it’s not something that really works too well for weight loss. These mini pizza burgers are great because everyone will love them and you get pizza tastiness without all of the guilt that comes with pizza. The slider size means that kids will go nuts for them!
1 jar of pizza sauce
1 lb ground turkey
1 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
16 pepperoni slices
Shredded mozzarella to taste
Slider buns (whole wheat if you can find them)
1 tbsp fresh parsley, lightly chopped
Heat the pizza sauce in a pan over medium heat until warm. (You can be working on the other steps while it’s heating.) Turn on low once it’s warm.
Combine turkey, salt, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix the meat well and then form into 8 mini patties.
Heat up the grill or skillet on medium high and cook the patties until they are no longer pink in the middle. This should take around 7 minutes.
Place the bottom buns on a baking sheet. Put the patties on the buns. Add two pieces of pepperoni and a spoonful of pizza sauce. Add cheese and broil until melted.
Add parsley and a top bun.
