Recipe: Cabbage Chili Soup

Now, this is going to sound really odd but trust me. Cabbage chili. It’s got a bit of a kick but without the fat and carbs of traditional chili. Instead it’s a tasty and filling meal that’s perfect for any meal and is even low calorie enough to work in diets such as the hCG diet (phase 2/3 on depending on if the protocol you are using counts tomato as a fruit or a vegetable).

 

 
Ingredients

1/4 lb ground beef
1/8 of a cabbage
1 ripe tomato
2 cups water
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder
1 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp oregano
3 cloves garlic, minced
ΒΌ tsp salt
 
Instructions

Brown the burger and add the garlic. Continue to cook until garlic is fragrant.
Add the water and spices.
Bring the water to a boil and add the cabbage. Lower heat to medium.
When the cabbage is almost tender add the chopped tomato.
Simmer on low until the tomato is your desired softness.
